Pernod Absinthe - the deep green absinthe from France

Pernod Absinthe is a deep green absinthe from France that comes with a hefty alcohol content of 68% volume. Despite the high content of alcohol, its taste is harmonious and has a fine bitterness. A wonderful absinthe that will surely elicit a smile from lovers.

An original recipe from 1792, adapted to the modern palate

The original recipe of the “absinthe elixir” is attributed to Dr. Pierre Ordinaire, who developed it in 1792. However, for the new edition of the Pernod absinthe, they have refined the recipe and the method of production to meet the tastes of the modern palate. As a result, Pernod Absinthe certainly impresses with its bitterness, which – according to the original recipe- is because of the use of exquisite vermouth plants.

In the 1920s, one or the other rumors about absinthe

In the 1920s, absinthe was banned in just about every country. This was because, as in vermouth, the toxic neurotoxin thujone forms was found in excessive amounts. For fear that once again, the green drink would be forbidden, even today, the amount of thujone contained in absinthe is still limited. So, you do not have to be afraid. Pernod Absinthe is called normal absinthe and may therefore only contain up to 10 milligrams of thujone per kilo / liter. It is well below the limit of 10 milligrams.
